Job Summary

Our finance team is looking for an assistant accountant to support the AP and credit control functions for our London and Houston offices. The ideal candidate will have experience of book keeping and accounting including: journal and bank transaction entry, invoice processing, accounts payable management, dispute management etc. We are looking for a candidate who is very well organised with a sense for prioritisation and enjoys working in a fast paced busy team who is looking to utilise their previous experience, but now gain exposure to further areas of book keeping and accounting in a global environment. We will support the ideal candidate with their development providing relevant experience and mentoring to encourage their progression.

 

 

Role Responsibilities

Processing of supplier invoices
Managing weekly and urgent payment runs
Ongoing review and maintenance of the customer and supplier ledgers
Preparing statements and statement reconciliations with third parties
Providing remittance statements and proofs of payment
Analysis of receipts
Preparation of bank reconciliations
Processing, recording and payment of staff expenses and credit card costs
Filing, reports, general ledger reconciliation, and other ad hoc tasks as required

 

Person specification:

High level organisational skills
Experience with accounting systems
Experience with credit control
Attention to detail
Analytical skills
Prioritisation ability
Medium level Excel (Vlookup, Pivot tables etc)
Basic knowledge of accounting terminology
Ability to detect inconsistencies

Qualifications

None required
Proven interest in accounting preferable
Relevant experience/qualifications preferable
